This trip of 3.6 km goes from Kvernevika on the border to Randaberg municipality in the north, to Hafrsfjord bridge. We walk on a well-prepared hiking trail over the rocks at the far end of Smiodden. The tour passes the monument to the Alexander Kielland accident. The trail from Kvernevika and some distance past the monument is one of Stavanger’s by far the most beautiful hiking trails. The sea is right out there and the waves hit on windy days. The hiking trail is hilly, but easy to walk. We pass heather fields and boathouse. It is never far to the dense and low buildings in Kvernevika, but it is never intrusively close. The whole thing is just so idyllic.
